Healthy Pregnancy What To Expect ?

In a healthy pregnancy, the mother's body provides the growing fetus with just about everything that it needs to survive, grow and thrive.  Most women will have this type of pregnancy.  While each year there are many complications of pregnancy including miscarriages and birth defects, in most situations still, babies are born healthy, without complication and with plenty of happiness.  If you are concerned about something specific being wrong during your pregnancy, talk to your doctor about your fear.  He or she can test or check out your concern to help reassure you that your baby will be healthy

What Makes A Pregnancy Healthy?

There are many contributing factors to a healthy pregnancy.  First, realize that each woman will be different.  If you are seeing changes in your friend or even your sister that you are not experiencing, do not worry.  Each pregnancy will have its own set of first symptoms of pregnancy and changes later on.  What is important is to report to your doctor anything that becomes painful or difficult to handle.  If you experience things like heavy bleeding, strong cramps or do not feel baby movement after the baby starts moving regularly, talk to your doctor.   This is especially true if you are likely to have a high risk pregnancy.  Ask your doctor if there are any indications that may point to you having trouble with pregnancy.

It is important to realize that in most pregnancies, there will be changes that are not pleasant.  During the first trimester pregnancy is not always simple.  Morning sickness, fatigue, irritability, and many other changes will cause you to feel bad.  Most of these feelings are caused by the changing amounts of hormones in your body.  The body has to adjust to them, which may take some time to happen.  Generally, by the time your second trimester arrives, though, many of these feelings will have subsided and you will be feeling great again.

Learning about pregnancy will help you to prepare for pregnancy changes. Take the time to learn about pregnancy week by week so that you can fully know what is happening within your body at any given time.  You'll find that in most cases, a healthy pregnancy is one that is filled with changes you did not know about.  Being educated will help you to know what is happening as well as to know what is likely to happen next to your body

For many, questions about pregnancy weight are out there. How much weight should you gain in a healthy pregnancy?  Unfortunately, there is no set rule to provide to you.  Some women will gain very little and still have a very strong and healthy baby.  Others will gain much more and do well as well.  The key is to answer your body's needs.  If your body is craving strange foods, for example, it may be because you are lacking in those nutrients contained in the food

Therefore, always consider providing your body with a healthy pregnancy diet with a good amount of nutrients from all food groups.  Eat a lot of vegetables from a variety of categories.  A good way to see if you have eaten enough variety is to look at the colors of those vegetables you are eating.  The more color variety there is, the better your diet will be

A healthy pregnancy starts with your body being able to carry your baby correctly.  When you provide the necessary nutrients to the baby during the pregnancy you will be protecting it and allowing it to grow.  In most situations, making healthy lifestyle choices is all you will need to do to have a healthy baby.

Pregnancy Diet

Pregnancy Diet Help For Health

What your pregnancy diet is will say a lot about the health of you and your baby during your pregnancy.  For many women, the need to pay attention to your diet is very important.   Everything that you put into your body will also be put into your child's body.  Therefore, you need to take into consideration the possibility of risks and health concerns if you do not eat a healthy diet.  Yet, eating a diet that is good for pregnancy is not difficult and may actually be easy to do

Start by improving the quality of food that you take in.   In your diet, you should eat a variety of healthy foods such as more vegetables and fruits.  A good way to know if you are getting enough of a variety is by looking for a range of colors.  The more color the food is, the better.  For example, the deep color of greens is an important source of nutrients for your body.  Purples, deep greens, oranges and even blue colors are all very important sources for healthy food for your pregnancy.

Additionally, consider the amount of fat in your diet.  In a pregnancy diet, look for high quality foods that are low in fat, especially saturated fat.  Replace foods in your diet that are high in fat with those that are not.  When doing this with meat, be careful about the amount of fish that you eat.  In some situations, too much fish can cause complications to pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about this type of risk to learn more.

Next talk to your doctor about any high risk pregnancy concerns he or she may have for you.  If there are any concerns about high blood pressure or diabetes, tailor your diet to avoid these foods.  In the second or sometimes third trimester, your doctor will do a glucose test for gestational diabetes.  Even before this, you will want to find out if diabetes is something you should be concerned about.  Your doctor will provide you with this information.

Also talk to your doctor about supplements.  Most women will need to take supplements during pregnancy that will provide them with additional nutrients including important vitamins and minerals for pregnancy.  Your doctor may prescribe a specific type to you or you may find some as over the counter options, but take what your doctor recommends first.

A healthy pregnancy will require careful attention to your body, too.  For example, many women will have cravings during their pregnancy.  Sometimes this happens after morning sickness has passed and you have left the first trimester of pregnancy.  A craving may be a signal to you that your body is lacking in a specific nutrient.  For example, if you are craving a food that is high in calcium, it may signal that your body is in need of more calcium.  You may want o be sure that you increase those types of foods in your diet more so.  Food cravings during pregnancy are normal though

Finally, take the time to learn about pregnancy week by week. Understand what development is happening with your baby so that you know what you can do to help him or her.  Get enough rest and relaxation along the way. From the first signs of pregnancy, it will be up to you to provide your baby with all of the nutrients that he or she needs.  Your pregnancy diet should be based on the requirements that your doctor provides for you to help eliminate any complications during pregnancy.  In most cases, eating a well rounded, healthy diet is all that is needed to provide your baby with the best start on life.

Pregnancy Weight Gain

Pregnancy Weight Gain: What To Expect

How much will you gain in pregnancy?  Pregnancy weight gain is defined on a person by person account.  What you gain will be different than what someone else gains.  There are many things that determine just how much you will gain; your heredity factors, your baby's genes and even the way that you live will help to determine how much you gain during pregnancy.  Of course, your height and weight currently will also determine how much more weight you are likely to gain

Healthy weight gain usually is dependent on what your weight is when you become pregnant.  For example, take the time to calculate your BMI, or Body Mass Index through one of the many BMI calculators available online.  Then, use this number to determine just how healthy your weight is currently.  A healthy BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is a good range to be in.  It also signifies that you will likely gain between 25 pounds and 35 pounds during pregnancy

For those underweight before pregnancy, you may gain more during pregnancy.  For those underweight, with a BMI of 18.5 or lower, you will likely gain between 28 and 40 pounds during pregnancy.  For those that are overweight before pregnancy, you are likely to gain less weight during pregnancy.  This may amount to between 15 pounds and 25 pounds.  For those that are obese, which a BMI before pregnancy of 30 or more, gaining no more than 15 pounds is necessary.

For those having twins, pregnancy weight will be different.  Most twins are born to mothers that have gained between 35 and 45 pounds during pregnancy. This will depend on your size, too, which is often an important part of your overall ability to carry twins full term

Pregnancy Exercise Counts

The estimates of weight gain during pregnancy listed above are just estimates.  They are meant to show averages of those women that have had healthy weight gain during their pregnancy.  Yet, to have a healthy pregnancy from start to finish, you also need to provide your child with all of the building blocks to make that happen.  In other words, you will need to provide them with all of the resources and nutrients they need, and you have to take care of yourself in the process.  This often means having regular health checkups. It also means getting pregnancy exercise in

Exercise during pregnancy should be approved by your doctor in terms of what types of exercise you can do as well as what amount of exercise is allowable.  In most situations, doctors will encourage regular workouts that do not force you to do more than your body can handle.  To keep in line with healthy weight gain during pregnancy, you will need regular exercise to help you through the process

Additionally, you also need to healthy diet during pregnancy.  Giving your baby all of the necessary nutrients he needs is an important part of the baby's development.  A healthy diet will be one that limits saturated fats, sugars and other bad food groups.  You should increase the amount of healthy grains, whole foods and vegetables you get in your diet.

During the stages of pregnancy, it becomes more important than ever to be sure that you provide your baby with all of the necessary tools to help him survive.  This also includes gaining only a healthy amount of weight during pregnancy.  By participating in regular exercise and a good pregnancy diet, you will facilitate this.  Take the time to consider pregnancy weight gain in terms of what is healthy. Not gaining enough is not a good thing, though!  Gaining the right amount of weight is essential.
